Lenta - Southwark Location
The Foundry is a historic London landmark. Built in 1819, this four-storey red brick building was part of the Bridges Trust, formerly the premises of the Blackfriars Type Foundry and - up until 1954 - Wicks Rotary Type Casting Co. providing printing type to nearby Fleet Street.
The Foundry was made available to LentaSpace by the City of London Corporation as part of its 800th anniversary celebrations in 1989 and opened on October 27th by the then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.
We have sympathetically refurbished the ground and basement levels, retaining the original Victorian features and creating a space that combines. The Foundry’s heritage with a cool, modern feel and high-quality finish. The building now provides the mix of workspace that fits the modern working day, with a total of 44 formal offices (468 workstations) and five meeting rooms, complemented by breakout spaces, outdoor terraces and a café.
